Hello everyone.
If you didn't come out to the launch on Saturday you missed a good time, lots of Rockets flying and spirited discussion about the Hobby in general.
Chris from the Tampa group came down and had 4 perfect flights, I was his TAP and it was good to meet Chris in person.
Iron Mike came out to fly his V2, nice flights.
Ken was ready to go and flew a long burn K motor over 6K feet from what I could see, he is a great addition to the club, welcome again Ken and Family.
Bryan, our 1st TMP flyer had some good flights and a E9 Cato, Surprised? We should Ban these motors during dry season. His mom spent the afternoon looking for her Rockets.
Dwight flew a 5 grain Rx, it was a REAL COOL flight. Wayne had one Too !
All in all a lot of very nice flights.
The last couple of months our new President has taken charge of the club functions, I am most impressed with all of Tony's efforts, and the new web site was up and functional in just a few days, it's a lot of work to keep a web site going so lets all send Tony good pictures to keep it that way, if you Google Tripoli fort Myers we are already at the top of search page.
As the club Prefect for the last Three years I think its time for fresh ideas and leadership, I have had a great time as the Prefect, it does however make flying a bit tough and that alone is reason to not stay in the position. My goal was always to be a TAP, as the technical end of the Hobby is what interests me. So, I have asked Mr. Secretary Dwight to call an election to replace me as
Prefect, Dwight will let us know the details. I believe everyone who is interested in the position should throw their hat in the ring. My support is with Tony, he has demonstrated the capability and desire to move the club forward, and to be a good steward with the club resources and most
importantly in insuring a safe launch. I would ask that all of you join with me and vote for Tony.
The prefect can certify L1 and L2 flights, as a TAP I can certify to all levels, so if one of us is not at the launch the other can sign off.
