Every Prefect brings something to their club and Bill was no exception. Bill Robinson stabilized our Prefecture. He brought us the science of experimental motor design, state of the art launch equipment and exposure on the national level from his successful high power flights and motor design while representing as a member of G.A.T.O.R.R. Bill has mentored most of us at one time or another and those who have learned from him are better for it. Bill came to Florida simply wanting to fly. He found a need in our little club and stepped up to fill it. He never wanted the responsibility of being Prefect but under his watch we have never had a canceled launch and have flourished. Bill’s heart is in the experimental science of rocketry. He became a TAP this year and wants to spend his time working with new level 3 flyers. Bill has given us 3 great years of flying and I for one thank him for this and wish him enjoyment and success in his new possession. I encourage everyone to thank him for all he has done for us.
Thank you to everyone for entrusting the prefecture with me. I will do my best to keep us flying and
enjoying the hobby.
There was a sparse but enthusiastic turn out for the October flight.
Mr. Charlie continued his journey back into rocketry with four successful low power flights.
Ken launched his Black Bryant on a K470. The up was wonderful but do to some parachute packing issues it came in hot. Ken will now be enjoying building his next high power project. We have all been there Ken.
Ben flew his trusted and true silver rocket on an RX 1700 Everclear motor. We were all
treated to another wonderful up but do to an altimeter issue the silver rocket came in hot. I will miss seeing that rocket fly.
Tami took pictures and I will put them up as soon as she gets them to me. As always if anyone has pictures or videos please get with me so I can get them posted.
